Preparing for Your Wedding in Toronto
Every year, hundreds of couples get married in the city of Toronto. Largely due to its amazing backdrops and
vibrant city life, Toronto is a popular wedding destination. If you already live in Toronto, you know just
how busy wedding life in this city can be. That’s why it’s important to prepare for your Toronto wedding
well in advance.
If you have enough time, start thinking about possible venues and vendors at least two to three months in
advance. The sooner you pick your ultimate wedding location, the more likely you are to secure that location
before another couple does. You may also want to think about hiring a wedding coordinator to help create a
flawless day.
Picking a Venue
Toronto has a lot of popular wedding venues. If you plan to book at wedding at one of Toronto’s largest
hotels or hippest spots, you will need to start calling these venues. You’ll quickly discover that most
venues book quickly during the high wedding season (summertime). Couples that have their hearts set on a
summer wedding should book a venue during the winter months in order to select the best dates.
If you are amidst a time crunch, you may find that many popular venues are already booked for your date. In
this case, ask to be placed on a waiting list or select another location. Sometimes choosing a location
that’s not a top wedding spot (such as a private garden or home) creates the best wedding memories.
Choosing Vendors
Once you have chosen and booked your venue, you will need to start considering vendors. There are many
different things that can be part of a wedding. Most couples begin with the cake, the dress and suit,
flowers, entertainment, photography and food options.
To find the best vendors, take the time to interview a few local businesses. You can choose vendors
based upon an Internet search, but it’s best to consider the reviews of friends and family members. Keep
your mind open while looking for vendors, and you’ll find what you’re looking for.
Wedding Coordinators
Planning a wedding can be overwhelming. A wedding coordinator can help with some of these tasks. If you
have the budget for a coordinator, visit with one or two experts. These people know how to create the
perfect wedding day, and you’ll be glad that you have a professional coordinator on your side!
